Look for that silver lining

Ebola's kill rate seems to hover around 50 or 60 percent of those taken ill, and given bad luck and ordinary human stupidity, cussedness, and fecklessness there's a chance - certainly an outside chance, but a chance - the disease will sweep the world.

And that would cut the global population by half or so in, say, less than a couple of decades

Economic and political disaster and chaos, but great for the planet, right, assuming in the chaos we don't ruin it with our weapons or with nuclear or other disasters?

So, if you're up for a conspiracy theory, blame it on the deep ecologists.

Can't wait for the movie.
