Tame the Supremes

Politicized Supreme Court plans to murder Obamacare soon

I left this comment.

I may have mentioned in the past on this very blog that final authority over the meaning of the constitution left in the hands of un-elected and life tenured lawyers is no way to escape constitutional bullshit based on politics.

There just is no way to escape that.

Pass an amendment to allow the congress to overrule the Supremes with a two thirds majority in any case whatever.

The constitution will still be a political football.

But the kicking around will be more democratic.

Update, 11/9 at 0939 hrs.

That, of course, is not what either party wants.

Neither party wants to abolish or even diminish the anti-democratic features of our government since each uses them for its own purposes, and dreads enabling the other party to prevail by democratic means.

They just want to whine when the other guys exploit undemocratic government.

How come, given they don't even want to change those features?

Well, they need to keep up a constant drumbeat of attacks against each other, anyway, don't they?

And anyone paying the least attention knows it doesn't matter at all how phony the attacks are.
