About Bernie Sanders

People calling this man a socialist must have Gene Debs spinning in his grave.

What Bernie Sanders thinks about the issues: a comprehensive primer

BS likes Medicare for all.

People so hot to replace Ocare with Medicare for all never even admit that Medicare is a disgrace and never spend a sentence on what they'd do to fix it, and that seems to include BS.

Are they stupid?

Don't they know?

His views on trade and immigration reflect a small, positive quantum of nationalism - anti-cosmopolitanism - that has already earned criticism from many, though of course not from me.

His very weak non-interventionism (he agrees ISIS is an American problem, he does not seem to be a NATO opponent) makes him, like O, better than the Republican neocons, but not by a whole lot.

Like a great many of DC's leading neocons, BS holds or held dual US-Israeli citizenship.

That counts against him, in my view, though so far as I know his expressed views on Israel are to the left of Hillary, who is herself sitting in Bibi Netanyahu's lap.

I have no idea who Dan Eden is, but this is worth a look.

Dual Citizenship - Loyal to Whom?

I have said many times I favor excluding 1st generation immigrants, at least, from any position having to do with foreign or military policy in the US government and not just the presidency, as well as efforts to deny them any influence on the government in such matters other than that available to the most ordinary voter who may once in a while write a letter to the editor or to his Congressman.

For very similar but more pressing reasons, I think it would also be best to forbid dual-citizenship to all Americans.
