Il Duce, "I'll do it alone."

Donald Trump to GOP: 'Be Quiet' or I’ll Lead Alone

Speaking in the historic Fox Theater in Atlanta, Georgia, Trump appeared to be fed up with leadership of the party he will likely lead into the November election.

"You know, the Republicans, honestly folks, our leaders, our leaders have to get tougher. This is too tough to do it alone. But you know what, I think I’m going to be forced to. I think I am going to be forced to, our leaders have to get a lot tougher,” he began.

He added, icily, "And be quiet. Just please be quiet. Don't talk, please be quiet.”

The newsies don't seem quite to realize he is saying he will rule the country alone, he will implement his entire agenda alone.

Yes, he's running for Emperor.

His supporters want him to do just this, get it all done for them, by himself, despite the "establishment" and the corrupt "politics as usual" of Washington.

Other politicians who promised to brush aside corrupt and hated "politics as usual" and "do it all alone" were Benito Mussolini and Adolph Hitler.

Their supporters wanted exactly that.

Reportedly, Trump is an admirer of Mussolini and an avid reader of the speeches of Der Fuhrer.

If Trump isn't actually a fascist he is at least pretending to be one, in a veiled sort of way.

Or perhaps he doesn't see quite where he is going, himself, driven by the dynamics of the campaign.

Do his supporters see it?

Do they consciously intend it?

Or will he and they jump off that bridge together, when and if they come to it?

Does that make him more like Napoleon III?

What on earth would a second empire America look like, in the 21st Century?

The biggest surprise would not be him trying it, but him getting away with it.

Who imagines our republican institutions are so weak as to fall over at the huffing and puffing of such a vulgar blowhard?
