A revolution built on oil exports

OPEC and global cartel oil prices made various Arab countries previously living on sand cooked over camel dung fabulously rich, financing a worldwide boost in influence for the most retrograde variants of the world's most retrograde religion.

The Bolivarian Revolution also made use of Venezuelan profits from those high prices to finance a spread-the-wealth revolution that had nothing much of socialism in it, despite the similar lies told by left and right for exactly contrary ideological purposes.

And the plunge in oil prices to un-cartel levels is killing the revolutionized economy of the country - just as it has, incidentally, put a considerable ding in the shale boom in North America, which in fact other left-wing conspiracy theorists have hypothesized as the true aim of the Saudi regime, not the ruin of Venezuela's pseudo-socialism.

That is actually the upshot of Caled Maupin's report, though that is not at all the way he spins it.

US-Led Economic War, Not Socialism, Is Tearing Venezuela Apart
