No provocation required

On 9/11, Muslims in Cairo attacked a US embassy and in Benghazi tortured and killed our ambassador.

They claimed to have been offended by some video that dissed Mohammed and Islam.

That was only a pretext, of course.

Anything will do, when it's a good time for Muslim violence.

And the 11th anniversary of the original 9/11 attacks was certainly such a time.

When next there comes a good time, the pretext will be some cartoon at Jesus and Mo, perhaps.

By day's end, today, liberal bloggers were directing all their wrath onto the supposed American video maker.

No one reminded them that their heroes, the first men of the Enlightenment, made their bones fighting for the first freedom, freedom from religious bigotry, violence, and terror.

Just the other day, Obama corrected Romney that al-Qaida, not Russia and not China, is our chief enemy.

True, as far as it went.

The tip of the iceberg.
