To its regularly scheduled shows encouraging blacks to see racism in the clouds, on slices of toast, and in tree rings CNN will add regularly scheduled programming to encourage women to see sexism in all the same places.

In both cases, of course, it will go with much saying that the solution - the only solution - is to vote to put Democrats in power.

CNN blasts out using the virus for race propaganda, again

The explanation for racial and ethnic disparities in infection rates, severity of infection, and death from infection is the accompanying disparities in relative wealth or relative poverty.

And it is by no means as if only nonwhites in America are poor.

There are far more poor whites than nonwhites in this country, and this means they are in the same ways disproportionately victims of the virus, too.

This is certainly an argument for public action to ensure every American has good quality health insurance and everyone in America has good quality medical care.

Not a peep about that on any "news" network.

Not on Fox since it would put their idiot viewers on notice.

Not on CNN, MSNBC, or BBC because howling about race works so much better for today's Democrats and the Democratic racist/racial left.

This is much worse than spinning.

CNN has turned what could and should have been a news-rich story revealing the stunning difference relative wealth or poverty makes regarding virus risk of infection, severity, and death in the US and indeed the world as a whole into a blistering attack of racist/racial vitriol.

An attack on America and an attack on white America.

To them, there is only one explanation and you know what it is, "systemic racism", "a history of racism", "the legacy of slavery, segregation, and racism".

Black, Latino and Native American people are nearly three times as likely to  ebe infected with Covid-19 than their White counterparts. Those three groups are about five times as likely to be hospitalized. And people of color across the board are more likely to die of the virus.

Race affects who is able to flee from a viral hotspot to a second home and who shares a roof with family members across generations. It affects who is able to work remotely and who has to leave home to keep society afloat. It affects who has easy access to testing and who puts off treatment because they're worried about the costs.

In other words, as the US approaches six million confirmed coronavirus cases, race plays a major role in who lives, who dies and who gets help.

The character just might be a satiric version of Trump, particularly since the author says the book was written after the Charlottesville affair.

At the time, Trump memorably spoke to the nation of the good people among the neo-Nazis, Klansmen, and other alt.right demonstrators in that city.

And as to the n-word, he was often reported back than as a frequent flier.

Lieberman, an attorney and former principal of an Atlanta Jewish school, is one of 21 contenders running in the special election for Sen. Kelly Loeffler’s (R-Ga.) seat.

He rejected criticism over his novel in a statement to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, saying he penned the story in response to the white supremacist neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville in 2017.

Lieberman referred to it as a  “clear-eyed and honest look at racism in America.”

“The fact that I published this book has been known since I began this campaign last year, so an attack surfacing only now is testament to the strength of my candidacy today,” he said.

He rejected call to drop out of the race.

The Democratic media are siding with Democratic local authorities and changing the subject, attacking the Duce (Trump is Mussolini!) and the federales (Jackbooted thugs! Unconstitutional incursions! Unmarked cars!).

The GOP media (meaning Fox and a bunch of websites) are attacking the Democratic local authorities as so many red (Commie) foxes policing henhouses (The cities are on fire! They're coming to your city! The rioters want to destroy America and the Democrats want the same thing!).

Why are Indian geographic names OK but sports team names not?

Rivers and mountains and islands have Indian names.

Political units and geographic features are named after tribes or individuals.

The name of Pontiac, for example, is used as a place name and an auto brand.

Not one white person has ever been offended by the Sarah Lee or Betty Crocker brands or images.

The Irish don't riot once a year or take a knee to protest the nickname of Notre Dame's football team.

This is one the country would have been better off not seeing.

I have the impression the position of the right on racism in law enforcement under Trump is much as it has been for decades, that there is little or no racial bias in law enforcement and no institutional racism in America.

In the present case, Rushmore is now denounced by CNN and MSNBC opinionators according to two lines dear the left who swear by Zinn and for whom A People's History of the United States is just true history rather than an essay in anti-American hatred virtually inventing the weaponization of history.

First, as racist in that the sculptor is alleged to have had some sympathy with the Klan, though never a member in an era when membership was without social or political cost.

And second, as a sin against sacred Indian lands (but the tribes agreed with the project at the time) and a evil validation of the also racist European settling and rise to dominance in the Americas.

There is no pleasing everyone. Certainly not history's losers.

I do not support the taking down of this statue, statues of Columbus, or other statues erected essentially to celebrate the European peopling of the US and the Americas.

The indigenista Children of Zinn consider the white settling of the Americas to be an atrocity and racist crime all by itself, and insist there was a general white genocide of the natives though Indians are far more numerous today than ever in the past.

I don't endorse or in the least accept their view of this history.

All the same, it ought to be illegal to show up at any demonstration with a weapon.

Demonstrators illegally defaced and attempted to tear down a statue in an act of race hatred and a man attempted to stop them with physical intervention.

Shoved to the ground, he took out a gun and shot a demonstrator.

He was then surrounded by armed militia in camos and wearing riot gear.

The man was arrested.

There is some dispute about whether he was a member of the militia, who are being described in the media as vigilantes who showed up armed to prevent the crowd harming or taking down the statue.

The Republican Party continues to exist because white Democrats have no balls.

Republicans, on the other hand, have no brains.

Who told him to always take the side of the devil?

Trump, Pelosi at loggerheads over Confederate monuments in US South

President Donald Trump on Wednesday ruled out a change to US military bases named after Civil War Confederate leaders, pushing back on pressure to rid public places of monuments honoring the once pro-slavery South.

"These Monumental and very Powerful Bases have become part of a Great A merican Heritage, and a history of Winning, Victory, and Freedom," Trump said in a tweet.

"My Administration will not even consider renaming these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations. Our history as the Greatest Nation in the World will not be tampered with," he wrote.

Ten bases honouring generals from the secessionist South, which lost the Civil War and its struggle to preserve slavery, are in the spotlight. They include the famous Fort Bragg, Fort Hood in Texas and Fort Benning in Georgia.

He may need to veto something as it looks like enough GOPsters in the senate support changing these names to pass something.

Senate Armed Services on collision course with Trump over Confederate names

The Senate Armed Services Committee on Wednesday voted to require the Pentagon to rename military bases and other assets named after Confederate generals, a move that puts the Republican-led panel on a collision course with the White House.

The committee adopted an amendment to the annual Pentagon policy bill that gives the Defense Department three years to remove the names of Confederate generals from U.S. military assets, according to a source familiar with the closed-door proceedings.

The language, adopted by voice vote as President Donald Trump preemptively threatened to veto any defense bill that did just that, affects massive bases like Fort Bragg in North Carolina and Fort Benning in Georgia. 

But it also goes further and includes everything from ships to streets on Defense Department property.

I personally oppose ending commemoration of Washington, Jefferson, or even Columbus, leading figures of the history of the US or the New World, because of their - grave, indeed - sins since they are not celebrated, commemorated, held up to admiration, or even merely memorialized for their sins.

But I quite agree that celebration of historic figures precisely for their sins is not acceptable.

And I personally oppose leftist indigenism regarding the Americas, Africa, or anywhere at all.

There is a current of American political and historical thought that makes race conflict the center and even the motor of American history.

At least to an extent, this reputedly is so of the Times' 1619 Project.

All that about race goes a very long way to making all but totally invisible the role of class conflict.

Think of the current fixation of Democratic and "lame stream" media on the disproportionate adverse impact of every ill and harm related to the Coronavirus and to societal and governmental efforts to deal with it.

The disparities noted are invariably racial.

But who does not see that they would still exist if we were a racially homogeneous country?

And how could we fail, in that case, to see that these are disparities of impact by social class and occupation?

That the homeless and the outcast, the hands-on and manual laborers among the working class, the small business people teetering on bankruptcy and poverty, are on the wrong end of this stick, as of so many others?

Including on the wrong end of unchecked and unrecognized criminal violence by the police, for example?

There have been repeated favorable mentions of the project on Morning Joe, and today there was an extended discussion of it.

I came in late to the show and only caught a few of the last moments of that discussion.

The left find it handy to paint the hostilities between Christian Europe and some of the inhabitants of Muslim lands - and some of the lands themselves - around the Med and extending across Anatolia, the Middle East, and Central Asia as turning on race, or at any rate as in some central way a clash of people or peoples of different races.

The word "pogrom" would be wholly out of place, however.

The extent of the violence in Elaine is greatly exaggerated by The Guardian, apparently to enhance weaponization of this history.

Wikipedia and USA Today give national totals for the Red Summer far lower than the total given by The Guardian for just this one small southern town.

The Guardian wants you to think of it as an episode of genocide, or at least of ethnic cleansing.

But in Ukraine alone and over 40 years, actual pogroms killed tens or hundreds of thousands and left millions homeless.

For comparison, Wikipedia: According to the Tuskegee Institute, 4,743 people were lynched between 1882 and 1968 [more than 80 years - PV] in the United States, including 3,446 African Americans and 1,297 whites.

More than 73 percent of lynchings in the post-Civil War period occurred in the Southern states.

According to the Equal Justice Initiative, 4,084 African-Americans were lynched between 1877 and 1950 in the South.

That is not nothing, but it is by orders of magnitude a lesser atrocity.

Arkansas: tree honoring 1919 Elaine Massacre victims cut down

Officials are investigating after someone cut down a willow tree that was planted earlier this year to honor the victims of the 1919 Elaine Massacre in eastern Arkansas.

The willow was planted in April in rememabrance of the victims of the massacre, one of the largest racial mass killings in US history.

It occurred during the summer of 1919, when hundreds of African Americans died across the country, at the hands of white mob violence during what came to be known as the “Red Summer”.

Estimates of how many African Americans were killed in Elaine range from the low hundreds to more than 800, which would make it the deadliest such massacre in US history. 

Mass graves are thought to be situated around the town.

Is it OK for the black majority to make laws governing the choices of the white minority in South Africa?

I ask because of this guilt-tripper doing her level best to stoke outrage that white people will make abortion laws impacting the choices of nonwhites.

White conservative women have played key role in abortion policy changes this year

The main storyline on reproductive rights for months now has been this: Men, many of them conservative, have moved to curtail access to legal abortion and even ban it, imposing their will upon women.

That would be the main guilt-tripping misandrist propaganda line that we are so disgusted by and so used to.

The truth, however, is more complicated.

White women have joined men, mostly but not exclusively in the Deep South, in using their conservative majorities in multiple state legislatures to make sweeping changes to abortion policies this year.

Those laws that survive legal challenges will most deeply affect women too poor to travel or move to a state with better access to abortion services. 

That’s a group that is disproportionately black and Latino — and, in the case of black women, a group that tends to support access to legal abortion. 

This gap between those making the decisions and those affected by them, experts say, is a dynamic with deep roots in American history.

And it happens the other way 'round in every American city or county where a black and overwhelmingly Democratic majority makes the rules for whites, often much more Republican, and other minorities.

Oh how awful!

Wait, is it racist to deplore black majority rule over a white minority? White nationalist? White supremacist, even?

The role of white women — long key players in dictating and constraining the reproductive choices of others — is too often discounted and overlooked, experts say. 

In 2019, new abortion restrictions were passed in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana after white women co-sponsored them, many voted for them and in one state, signed the changes into law. 

(In those four state legislatures, 48 women — almost all of them white — voted for the restrictions.)

When Democrats get like this they just make me want to puke all over them.

And regret that the Republicans want to kill me, so I can never vote for them, no matter how revolting the Democrats get.
