Will America wait eight months? Can we?

For competent, honest, clear leadership to deal with the virus, I mean.

Does the Republican leadership face the truth and go for the 25th Amendment solution before November?

Can the party leadership expunge Bozo from the ballot in time for the election?

When do they decide they as a party can't survive much more of Trump?

Trump has already killed tens of thousands of Americans, and will keep on killing Americans just as long as he stays in the White House

Our 320 million people are 4 % of the world's 7.8 billion.

We account for 51,000 of the world's 200,000 Coronavirus dead.

That's 26 %.

How did that happen?

Donald Trump.

Time for Amendment 25.

Trump wasted lots of money and resources to please a big money donor, says Steve M.

Steve M on the Duce's motives.

Nah. He did it because he's genuinely and honestly stupid.

About which see his latest brilliant medical suggestion, injecting disinfectant into patients' lungs.

I warned weeks ago that Fauci and Birx should have publicly denounced the notion that valuable research time and resources should be wasted on medically baseless - not to mention blatantly stupid - suggestions, and they did not.

I also warned they should have denounced the idea of forcing or even allowing doctors to use anything as a curative therapy not proven according to normal protocols and criteria of medical science to be safe and useful, and they did not.

So Trump ordered researchers to waste time and money on researching the curative value of hydroxychloroquine, which has turned out to be both useless and harmful for Coronavirus patients.

And he ordered that doctors actually use that drug therapeutically in such cases, which some actually did despite their Hippocratic Oath on some patients.

Just maybe it's time for Fauci and Birx to grow a pair and tell Boobie to his face that his ideas are childish and silly and he should just stop talking about serious matters to actual adults.

Update, MSNBC Dr. Kavita Patel agrees Birx should have boldly and frankly shut down the nonsense right then and there, as it came out of the president's mouth.

She says the medical profession is furious resources have been wasted and are still being wasted proving Trump's crackpot remedies are useless and even harmful.

They are not happy Fauci and Birx have not be much braver in resisting his idiocies, as they happen, in public.

The two should be as brave and principled as Dr. Bright, who refused to indulge the Duce's harmful nonsense even at the cost of his job.

The public needs to see how seriously this stupid president is letting them down, how unwilling and unable he is to actually understand and not foolishly sabotage real science.

Update. It is really so odd that he thinks he is entitled to a seat at a table where relevantly trained and expert docs are seriously discussing possible treatments, what might deserve researching, etc.

That he is qualified to offer ideas and even to urge upon them entire research projects devoted to his off-the-cuff thoughts what might work.

How does he not know that he, like the rest of us who are not relevantly prepared researchers, would not have the least idea where to start finding therapeutically effective drugs, what might be a cure, or how to make an effective vaccine?

How does he not know, as we know of ourselves, that he has no place at that table?

Steve Schmidt, on a YouTube clip of Joe S, suggested reconsideration of the 25th Amendment because of exactly this contretemps, though Willie and Joe immediately ran away from that.

The reason for the 25th Amendment

When a secret president ran the country

Wilson's wife, after his devastating stroke in October of 1919.

His second term ended March 4, 1921.

And then Kennedy was shot dead.

What if he had lived on in a persistent vegetative state?

The 25th.

Rosenstein may have uttered the words to McCabe or others as a sarcastic rejection of the ideas of recording the president and using the 25th Amendment.

"What do you want me to do? Wear a wire?" in a sneering tone.

Don't listen to the pundits

Just read it for yourself.

It's not like it's War and Peace, after all.

The 25th Amendment

Section 4

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.

Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session.

If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

Ignore all the bullshit pretending to expound what has to be true about the president for him to be "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office", because nothing in the law or the constitution says what that amounts to.

He is unable if he or the VP and a host of others say he is and nobody with the ability to decide otherwise decides otherwise.

But it's not going to happen.

Trump isn't going to declare himself unable, and Mike Pence isn't going to declare him unable, and who the hell are "the principal officers of the executive departments"?

Are they just the heads of each executive department?

So, a majority of Trump's cabinet, then, would have to get on board.

And then it would all but immediately go to the Congress for decision.

Don't be too sure a Democratic congress after this November would actually go through with it.

Or that a Republican controlled Supreme Court would sit quietly by.

It's back in the news.

And somebody is lying.

Maybe several somebodies, out to put Rosenstein in a spot.

New York Times: Rod Rosenstein discussed secretly taping Trump

In the days after FBI Director James Comey's May 2017 firing, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein discussed wearing a "wire" to record conversations with President Donald Trump and recruiting Cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office, The New York Times reported Friday.

. . . .

Rosenstein issued a rare statement himself forcefully denying the Times report.

"The New York Times's story is inaccurate and factually incorrect. I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the Department and are advancing their own personal agenda," Rosenstein said in a statement Friday obtained by CNN.

"But let me be clear about this: based on my personal dealings with the President, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment."

. . . .

A source who was in the room told CNN that the wire comment was "sarcastic and was never discussed with any intention of recording a conversation with the President."

The Times, however, citing sources who described his comments, said Rosenstein was serious about the idea and followed up suggesting FBI officials interviewing to be FBI director secretly record Trump.

And sources can be liars, too.

Rosenstein isn't stupid enough for this fake news to be true.

It's bullshit intended to provide an excuse for Bozo to fire him.

And the Times is the tool of the plotters.
