A national pissing contest

Crazies of the left have caused no end of chaos and destruction in cities all over America, every day and every night, for more than three months.

And the crazy right?

What, a day and a night at Charlottesville?

Who is the grave threat to the republic, to democracy, to the rule of law, to domestic tranquility and ordered liberty?

Trump, too stupid, ignorant, and incompetent for the the role, and anyway with no institutional support to speak of, awaits his cue to step forward as . . . Pinochet? Fujimori? Franco?

What would that be like?

The second time as farce?

Or the third?

Whatever.

Strange bedfellows, indeed.

Bundy arrested at Idaho Statehouse for second time in 2 days

[Ammon] Bundy, who led the 2016 occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon, was arrested Tuesday in a committee room and charged with trespassing and resisting and obstructing officers.

. . . .

Lawmakers on Tuesday had to abandon a committee room when a crowd shouted down lawmakers and forced them out.

Bundy was later arrested in that room when he refused to leave.

Bundy and his supporters are opposed to proposed legislation the committee was considering that would shield businesses, schools and government entities from liability if someone caught COVID-19.

. . . .

Bundy, 44, is a supporter of Black Lives Matter, and he supports defunding police to limit what he said has become a police state.

Laura now Cat 4

Hurricane Laura live updates: Storm now Category 4 with 'unsurvivable storm surge' expected

Laura is a Category 4 hurricane with "unsurvivable storm surge" expected in some areas, according to the National Hurricane Center.

"Unsurvivable storm surge with large and destructive waves will cause catastrophic damage from Sea Rim State Park, Texas, to Intracoastal City, Louisiana, including Calcasieu and Sabine Lakes," the NHC said in a statement.

"This surge could penetrate up to 30 miles inland from the immediate coastline. Only a few hours remain to protect life and property and all actions should be rushed to completion."

Parts of eastern Texas and western Louisiana are forecast to see "catastrophic wind damage," especially in places where the storm's eyewall makes landfall, the NHC said.

Residents are urged to brace for "widespread damaging wind gusts" that will spread well inland across parts of those areas early Thursday morning.

Laura a Cat 3 may be Cat 4 when it hits someplace between Houston and New Orleans

15 to 20 foot "unsurvivable" storm surge in Louisiana could reach as far inland as Interstate 10.

What are we looking at?

What it looks like is an enraged cop follows closely until he loses it and pumps seven shots into the guy.

You be the judge.

Protests in Wisconsin after video appears to show police shooting Black man in the back

A black man, Jacob Blake, in white tee and shorts with empty hands walks around the front of a car and gets in, followed all the way by a uniformed white cop, not identified in this story, two or three feet behind him, seemingly holding a gun with both hands at arms' length pointed at Mr. Blake's back.

Maybe it's me but I think the cop looks furious, determined, and grim.

There are a few bystanders shouting a bit.

As Blake gets closer to the driver's seat door the cop gets closer to him.

The picture cuts out for three or four seconds just after Blake opens the door and gets into the driver's seat of the car, with the cop now so close he seems to be pushing Blake inside.

The cop has his left hand on the frame of the open car door.

In some other videos I have seen it looks like the cop has grabbed the white tee at the moment when the videoed action stops.

And then in the Guardian's video with no picture you hear gunfire. Seven shots.

You don't see anyone firing at anyone.

The picture comes back and the door is still open, though not as wide, and the cop still has his left hand on it.

You hear the car horn start blaring and people screaming.

Somebody's voice goes "Wow".

There is no hint why the video stops just before the shooting and starts up again immediately after.

You absolutely infer from what you see that the cop shot Blake in the car seven times, just after he got into the car.

We at no time see inside the car.

In the instant after the video stops and before the first shot Blake could have pulled a weapon from under the seat, from the glove box, or from elsewhere.

Or not.

There does not seem to be a lot of time for that.

The shooting starts almost immediately once Blake gets into the car.

Other stories on line say the cops were not wearing body cams.

What's the backstory?

All the Guardian has is this.

Kenosha police said officers responded to a reported domestic incident at 5.11pm in the city before the shooting occurred.

I have seen other versions of the video on line but all of them miss the actual shooting.

All stop where this one does and some do not resume after the shots are fired.

Blake is hospitalized, seven shots were fired as reported in several accounts.

2 storms head for gulf coast.

They're expected to be category one hurricanes when they hit.

Update. Laura might be cat 2 or 3, Marco might not be a hurricane but instead a tropical storm.

They are trying to kill them off in that state because of both their threat to people and their utterly devastating impact on native honey bees.

So much spin this news is really just industry propaganda

There is more money in hunting seals than hunting sharks, though both are hunted globally.

There is a dormant seal hunting industry in New England and lots of folks there who would like it to stop being dormant.

So these are stories about poor confused sharks mistaking swimmers for seals and, shucks, so sorry, by sheer honest mistake persistently attacking and chewing people up and feasting on the easy prey that is long pig.

It's not like any shark has ever spit out a swimmer, shrieking, "Shit! That's not a seal! What the fuck was that?"

And it's not the seals that are dining on the swimmers.

After fatal great white shark attack in Maine, debate intensifies over culling seals

To save the NRA get rid of LaPierre and all his cronies before the NY suit concludes

And how does anybody do that?

'Wayne must go' – the staunch NRA supporter out to take down LaPierre

Why is there no space in that name? Shouldn't there be, given the P is capitalized?

Mass rioting in Beirut demanding revolution

Per CNN there have been such riots for months, all made worse by the huge explosion the other day that made 300 thousand homeless over night, though killing only about 150 individuals.

Letitia James on Morning Joe

She argued vigorously and well that the pervasive corruption of the NRA required its dissolution.

Not exactly a hostile venue, politically, though.

And not to say this isn't obvious political opportunism on many levels.

Her defenders have to say this chance to kill off a critical enemy organization is a windfall for the Democrats legitimated by the facts.

Legitimate opportunism, so to speak.

Legally, the NRA really should be dissolved.

They have to say.

Legal in FL for fifteen year olds to carry around a loaded AK-47?

The story doesn't actually settle that question.

Reportedly, they had no idea where they were.

Teens arrested with AK47 at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida

Three teenage boys have been arrested after inadvertently entering President Donald Trump's Florida resort with a loaded AK47 assault rifle.

A chase began after Palm Beach police attempted to approach their car, which was parked near the president's Mar-a-Lago club.

The boys, aged 15, jumped a wall while fleeing and were later found hiding on the property.

Mr Trump was not there at the time and the resort is current closed.

Police spokesman Michael Ogrodnick told AP News that the boys were found parked about two miles (three kilometres) from the club, and fled when officers approached to inspect.

The boys later saw police conducting a separate traffic stop outside the resort and wrongly thought it was a roadblock set up to catch them.

According to a police report, they then left the car and fled into the club. They allegedly dumped a backpack containing the loaded semi-automatic rifle and a 14-round magazine on a seawall at the property.

"They had no idea where they were," Mr Ogrodnick said, adding that they were lucky that Mr Trump's family was not there, as they might otherwise have been shot by the Secret Service.

The teens were charged with trespassing with a firearm, burglary with a firearm and resisting arrest without violence.

The suspects, who are not being named, are being held in a juvenile detention centre as authorities determine whether to prosecute them as adults.

The devil is finding work for many idle hands this summer of love

Gunshots Fired as Rival Militias Face Off in Louisville

Americans are far too stupid and far too angry for the 2nd Amendment.

There Are No Peaceful Protesters In Portland

We are approaching day 60 of the violent riots in Portland, Oregon.

The media would have you believe that these are peaceful protests highjacked by a handful of violent agitators.

That is a lie.

At this point none of the 2,000 or so people out of 650,000 who live in Portland who are gathering each night are peaceful protesters, all of them, every single one, are aiding and abetting the destruction and violence knowingly and willingly.

. . . .

Let’s be perfectly clear about this.

Any single person on the streets giving cover to this violent mayhem is themselves a participant in the rioting and destruction.

This is not tens of thousands of Americans coming together to have their voices heard and petition the government for better police practices.

These people don’t even have any discernible demands; there is literally nothing that authorities could do or concede that would make them stop their wanton destruction.

A right wing attacker seems the most likely hypothesis

But it's not impossible this was some antifa or BLM arsonist.

What happens to the vandals of the racial left when they do tens of thousands in damage to statues or other monuments to people they loathe?

These counter-vandals did maybe a few dollars in damage to a slogan painted on a street.

California couple charged with hate crime for allegedly vandalizing Black Lives Matter mural

"Allegedly"? Not a lot of room for doubt.

A white California couple has been charged with a hate crime after they were seen on video defacing a Black Lives Matter mural, according to a statement from the Contra Costa District Attorney's office.

Two people, identified by the district attorney as Nicole Anderson, 42, and David Nelson, 53, were seen on July 4 painting over the B and L in the word "Black," which had been painted in yellow, with black paint.

In the video, the man identified as Nelson can be heard saying, "There is no racism. It's a leftist lie," and, "No one wants Black Lives Matter here."

When a woman could be heard asking, "What's wrong with you?" the man replied, "We're sick of this narrative, that's what's wrong. The narrative of police brutality, the narrative of oppression, the narrative of racism. It's a lie."

He was wearing Trump 2020 garb and yelled "Make America Great Again."

Anderson was the one seen painting over the letters, while Nelson stood alongside her and at one point fetched another can of paint from a car.

A garage door pull-down rope?

Kayleigh McEnany Defends Trump's Tweet Criticizing NASCAR For ‘Rush To Judgment’ About Noose

Reportedly, it was just a mistake and the noose found in Wallace's garage was left there before the garage was assigned him and was only a garage door pull-down rope, according to the FBI.

And Wallace seemingly accepted that explanation and moved on with his life.

The Great Fat Orange Klansman tweeted it was all a fake, not an honest mistake.

I have never seen a picture of that noose.

For a garage door you'd expect a length of rope with a balled up knot made of multiple simple knots at the bottom for a person to grab to pull the door down.

Or maybe this sort of knot.

For a hanging you'd expect a quite distinctive type of noose that has only that use, so far as I am aware.

A quick search found this.

The Guardian

“As you can see from the photo, the noose was real, as was our concern for Bubba,” Nascar president Steve Phelps said.

“Based on the evidence we had, we thought our drivers – that one of our drivers had been threatened, a driver who had been extremely courageous in recent words and actions. It’s our responsibility to react and investigate, and that’s exactly what we did.”

Nascar asked officials at every track to check their garages this week.

The story is dated June 25.

Nascar said out of 1,684 garage stalls at 29 tracks, only 11 had a garage door pull-down rope tied in a knot.

The only one fashioned in a noose was the one discovered Sunday by a crew member in Wallace’s No. 43 garage stall.

. . . .

Nascar moved quickly and by Monday, FBI agents were at the track.

On Tuesday, authorities said the rope had been hanging there since last fall and thus was not a hate crime targeting the 26-year-old Wallace.

US attorney Jay Town and FBI special agent in charge Johnnie Sharp Jr said “nobody could have known Mr. Wallace would be assigned” to that same stall.

Wallace never saw the rope.

He said Phelps came to see him Sunday night at the track with “tears running down his face.”

He also told CNN: “ It was a noose. Whether it was tied in 2019 ... it is a noose.”

It could be a Uni-knot.

That would actually make sense.

The Uni-knot doesn't slip so it would work for a door pull.

But the hangman's noose slips. It has to, given its job. And that would not work well for a door pull.

Did anyone check?

And if your day isn't bad enough, yet . . .

Florida teen dies after conspiracy theorist mom takes her to church event and tries to treat her with Trump-approved drug: report

I refer not to all that Raw Story browser killing trash but to the actual story of the mom and her daughter and what the mom did to the daughter.

Maybe soon we'll read of her arrest and trial for murder.

This mom shows better than most folks how far political beliefs are akin to beliefs about alien abductions and other internet bullshit.

A Florida mother allegedly took her high-risk teenage daughter to a youth group event at their church, tried treating the girl at home with unproven drugs when she got sick — and then hailed her as a patriot after she died.

Carsyn Davis died June 23, two days after her 17th birthday, after she contracted the coronavirus, reported the News-Press, but former Florida data scientist Rebekah Jones detailed shocking claims in a medical examiner’s report about her illness.

Wait, the kid was just under 17 at the time? And she played along with this insanity? Wow. That's got to be a story, too.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigated the teen’s last two weeks in the medical examiner’s report, which Jones said shows her mother, Carole Brunton Davis, had taken her immunocompromised on June 10 to a church-sponsored event.

Editor’s note: Jones’ analysis of the medical examiner’s report suggested that Davis had intentionally exposed her daughter to the virus at the event, but there’s no additional evidence to support that claim.

Oops. Don't hold your breathe waiting for that arrest.
