Omerta is for everyone

A surprising number of people who have learned that Al Sharpton was a CI for the FBI decades ago, providing information on mafia figures, seem to disapprove of that role.

Regular comment writers at liberal blogs, I mean.

By no means only the conservatives who, hypocrites or not, are jumping all over him for this.

Interesting.


Speaking to media, according to the NY Observer,

Mr. Sharpton argued that cooperating with the police should be considered a good thing.

Evidently, by many who are not themselves Mafiosi, it is not.

An indicator of what many Americans think about government, law, and order.

Apparently, they hold this against him even though, in this case, the crimes must have been quite serious.

Do I hold this against him?

Not at all.

I hold the Tawana Brawley affair, for which he has never apologized, and his general racism against him.
