Salon is about far left - liberal, not so much - propaganda more than anything else.
They never disappoint.
Propaganda is overwhelmingly bullshit, even when it is true or on the side of the angels.
Almost always it is intentionally stupid, the degree of stupidity depending on the intended audience, the propaganda usually being just a bit stupider than those who consume it so as not to be obvious to them, though sometimes it is much more stupid than they to provide them with a sense of insider joy in the public purveyance of a stupidity so egregious as to leave the opposition thunderstruck.
A kind of shock and awe strategy of stupidity.
