There is more money in hunting seals than hunting sharks, though both are hunted globally.
There is a dormant seal hunting industry in New England and lots of folks there who would like it to stop being dormant.
So these are stories about poor confused sharks mistaking swimmers for seals and, shucks, so sorry, by sheer honest mistake persistently attacking and chewing people up and feasting on the easy prey that is long pig.
It's not like any shark has ever spit out a swimmer, shrieking, "Shit! That's not a seal! What the fuck was that?"
And it's not the seals that are dining on the swimmers.
