He won because he used a lot of his own money to out-spend
the others, and his advertising started much sooner than theirs.
He is a reasonably personable fellow and on the issues he’s
a standard liberal Democrat.
That means he aims to please feminists, gays, and non-whites
above all, while upholding national and state progressivism.
He beat one man and two women for the nomination.
He is certainly much preferable to his Republican opponent,
the incumbent Tom Corbett.
