Some day soon you will fill out your tax return on a postcard and the IRS will be abolished.

A national Trump campaign spokeswoman on MSNBC moments ago spent the last minutes before the break bemoaning the economy, the threat of ISIS, the out of control border, and blaming Hillary by name, loudly insisting all the horrors got worse over the last eight years when the Democrats were "totally in control of everything."
To which the interviewer replied "Thank you very much, so-and-so, and now for a break."

Change continues apace

The $5 and $10 bills will also undergo some changes.
“When we started this conversation not quite a year ago, it wasn’t clear to me that millions of Americans were going to weigh in with their ideas,” the US treasury secretary, Jack Lew, told CNBC.
“We’re not just talking about one bill. We’re talking about the $5, the $10 and the $20. We’re not just talking about one picture on one bill. We’re talking about using the front and the back of the bill to tell an exciting set of stories.”
While the $5 bill will be changed to depict civil rights era leaders, the back of the $10 bill will now bear a mural-style depiction of the women’s suffrage movement.
Originally, Lew hoped to replace Hamilton with Susan B Anthony, according to a memo obtained by the Wall Street Journal.
Anthony will now appear on the back of the bill instead.
Anthony previously appeared on a $1 coin.

PA primary next week
The polls look good for Hillary.
I am not sure yet who I will vote for, but I think my wife will vote for Hillary.
I was an early supporter of Bernie and actually sent money to his campaign, though I am not an enthusiast for his health insurance plan or his higher education plan (his banks plan is OK), and I am unsure about his protectionism.
Mostly, he was the not-Hillary for me, and I would actually have preferred Biden, whom I perceived as a Hillary without the misandry, the militarist tendency, or the hanging threat of indictment.
But in recent weeks I have grown more unhappy with Bernie as he has taken shape more clearly as a sour old sixties radical who never got over it.
So I may go for Hillary, after all.
Perhaps a more interesting evolution in my views has been a growing distancing from any part of what I have sometimes described in posts about Trump as Buchananism, the ideology of Pat Buchanan that Trump is running on.
Trump has done very powerfully what Pat did not do, make protectionism and thoroughgoing anti-globalism show up as just as frightening, stupid, and reactionary as Pat's white Christian traditionalist and male identity politics - all of them menaces to the America I love and to the safety of the world.
Pat's enthusiastic support for Donald Trump has been a revelation, discrediting both Trump and himself.
[Update, 12212016. I have edged back toward support for the trade and foreign policy aspects of America First Buchananism. Not totally there, but not opposed.]

Also, this morning Sanders supporters are whining that New York's was a closed primary, with the result - very annoying to them - that only actual Democrats got to vote in a process aimed at deciding who the Democrats' nominee would be.
In NY, Bernie could have done much better if just anybody could have voted in the Dems primary.
Throughout the primary season, it has been Bernie's and The Donald's supporters who have given that excuse from time to time for not doing better.
It makes sense, given that Trump is not really a Republican and Bernie has for decades rejected identification with and membership in the Democratic Party.
They are both outsiders with no institutional loyalty to the parties whose nominations they seek.
Just as neither one of them seriously respects or identifies with the institutional structure of the American republic.
Both of them regularly and volubly damn as totally corrupt both the parties and the government.
Their supporters feel just the same.
Amanda Marcotte on Sanders' outsider gassing about his "political revolution" and his and his supporters' outright hostility to the Democrats.

Ben Norton, meanwhile, goes all holier than thou, mounting a massive and furious attack on both Clintons, President Obama, and the entire Democratic Party.
And what amazing fantasies about the lefty stuff "most of the world takes for granted"!
Furiously alienated supporters like him are walking, talking "bad company" arguments against supporting Bernie.
It seems that for some people this is another kind of identity politics.
Democrat identity.
Meanwhile, the Sanders campaign says it's going to the convention and will try to win by getting superdelegates to defect with the argument Sanders will do better in November, even if Hillary is clearly ahead both in votes and in pledged delegates, as it seems she will be.
