Would you criminalize people who buy cheap shirts because in
some parts of the world slaves are used in their production?
I can see criminalizing knowing rental of a slave or of any
sex-worker one should have suspected was acting under coercion.
But this is a moralistic attack on the trade per se, a
convergence of Christian morals and feminist – likely lesbian – resentment of
men and male sexuality.
