COMCAST Watchathon True Detective features only season one.
It's an unbeatable classic.
I almost never read TV critics so I missed the dismissive attacks on Cohle's disquisitions on pessimism.
But like this fellow I saw a lot of Nietzsche in Cohle.
But you can't stop there considering N's mission to reject pessimism.
So, Schopenhauer, Leopardi, or maybe some others.
Good essays, here, throw more light on sources.
Ligotti looks interesting.
