Finally, Bill Maher checks in on Syrian refugees and Muslim immigration. And disappoints.

Maher: Idea That Syrian Refugees Will Come To America And Fit In Is A "Fantasy;" Obama Won't Say "Islamic Terror"

And also this.

Maher, talking about Trump's ban on Muslim immigrants, acknowledged "this is the one issue that Democrats are going to lose the election on."

Maher criticized Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton and President Obama for not being able to say "Islamic terrorism."

I watched the video and Maher was not saying he thinks Trump's moratorium on Muslim immigration is right.

In fact he says flat out that it's wrong.

He says forced to choose between a man who demagogues the issue (Trump) and a candidate who can't even say "Islamic terrorism" the majority of the electorate will go to Trump.

But Maher's position is incoherent and it is hard to take his dissent from the view of The Donald on this point seriously.

On the one hand, Maher is adamant that the Syrian refugees, given the religious and cultural norms of Muslim society, given the widespread Muslim preference for Shariah over freedom, given the currency of grossly violent corporal punishment and misogyny to the point of violence that are part of their culture, won't fit in in Germany, anywhere in Europe, or here in the US and ought not to be admitted.

And it is notorious that Maher has been a doomsayer about and opponent of mass Muslim immigration into Europe for decades.

But on the other hand he now says Trump's moratorium is wrong?

Phooey.
