Paying isn't speaking

The most important legal points in disputes of considerable significance display the acumen, sharp legal reasoning, and laser-like logic that lawyers, judges, and law professors insist is the hallmark of their profession and in which they take such pride.

Utter bollocks, in other words.

Should nonunion teachers be forced to pay dues?

The argument of the plaintiffs, typical of the quality of the legal mind, is that compulsory payments are compulsory speech.

As for the corruption of the courts by politics, liberal complaints are surely the most absurd of crocodile tears.

As are their bleats about democracy.
