Sanders' health plan is a dud

Joan McCarter at KOS, without being brutal about it, says Democrats need to stick with Hillary's approach and support and consolidate the existing setup, of which Obamacare is a critical part.

Bernie's plan is too disruptive, too expensive, would require a big tax increase on income over $250 K, and relies on forcing down reimbursements to providers drastically.

That last is one of its signal bad points.

Cut the amount of money we put into medical care and you cut its quality and cut into its development.

Good quality and ever-improving scientific medicine is expensive.

And how much sense does that sort of thing make, anyway, when Hillary and others are promising to spend more on the effort to fight cancer?

I didn't like Medicare for all when Dennis Kucinich ran on it in 2008 and I don't like it now.

About that debate.

Krugman thinks reopening the health insurance worm can would be a futile waste of enormous political capital better spent on other progressive agenda items.
