Reportedly, the worst attack in US history.
Las Vegas shooting death toll rises to 58, no apparent connection to terror
A 64 year old white guy with no criminal record, Stephen Paddock, living with a black woman in a retirement community, did it.
The FBI contradicts ISIS, saying there is no connection to international terrorism.
At least 58 people were killed and 515 were injured in Las Vegas on Sunday night when a gunman opened fire on a music festival crowd from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
It was the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history.
The "nonstop gunfire," according to one witness, sent more than 22,000 country music fans scrambling for their lives.
Police say the lone suspect had at least 10 rifles when he was found dead in a Mandalay Bay hotel room.
. . . .
In the wake of the shooting, the Las Vegas Police Department said authorities responded to a hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel, where police said the suspected gunman, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, was dead.
Police said they believe Paddock, of Mesquite, Nevada, killed himself prior to police entry.
The motive was unclear.
Officials said at a news conference this morning they have found no connection between the shooting and any international terrorist group.
Lots of people in attendance took video, and the networks have it up.
From the sound of it in some of the clips the shooter had at least one fully automatic weapon, which I believe is not legal for any civilian anywhere in the US.
From the photos, it was a pretty long shot from the hotel room to the concert area.
But maybe it was no real feat of marksmanship to spray bullets into the packed crowd of revelers.
Coming up, big time pushes for gun control through Democratic media.
[My mistake. It began last night.]
Race-hate killers, Jihaders, and right wing Jihaders tend to be identified as such fairly quickly.
That Paddock has not been so identified since the shootings last night suggests it was another in the long line of lone nutjob mass killings, like the school and movie theater shootings and the Texas Tower shooting.
Neither terrorism nor a hate crime, it seems, so far.
