Unconstitutional delay?

Trump's policy is loading up the federal law enforcement system well beyond its usual level of delay and administrative confusion, very much increasing the amount of time people will have to spend in detention awaiting trial.

In fact, the additional delay and confusion appear to be intentional, added misery aimed at deterring prospective illegals from trying it.

So when will a friendly judge order mass releases because such delays are unconstitutional?

Trump has rejected Republican proposals to hire thousands of new judges as "crazy" and objected many of the judges could be corrupt.

The man is an egregiously evil moron.

President Trump ridiculed on Tuesday what he said was a total lack of security at the nation’s borders, falsely blaming Democrats for separating families and dismissing as “crazy” Republican proposals to hire thousands of new immigration judges.

Rejecting a proposal by Senator Ted Cruz of Texas to end family separations by boosting personnel in immigration courts, Mr. Trump suggested that many of the immigration judges could be corrupt, and he said some lawyers who appear in their courtrooms are “bad people.”

“They said, ‘Sir, we’d like to hire about five or six thousand more judges,’” Mr. Trump said in a long and rambling speech.

“Five or six thousand? Now, can you imagine the graft that must take place? You’re all small-business owners, so I know you can’t imagine a thing like that would happen.”

So would Cruz's proposal be to end the "zero tolerance" policy and send first time and other non-criminal families of illegals into immigration detention to await quick disposition and (depending on the outcome) deportation?

Quick disposition would obviate the need for "catch and release", but would not satisfy the administration's stated and urgent desire to punish illegals, including first offenders, as criminals, and thus deter others.
