Bush was a fraud in so many ways.
He made his run against Al Gore a run against Bill Clinton, and painted the latter as a warmongering globalist.
And he aimed for the center by billing himself as a "compassionate conservative", signaling white working class voters he would not attack Social Security or Medicare.
Then he invaded both Afghanistan and Iraq, and attacked both Social Security and Medicare.
Sound like anyone more recent?
But then who are Democrats to complain about that sort of fraud?
Think of Woodrow Wilson, FDR, and LBJ.
All three ran as peace candidates and then, with the White House won, gave us war.
