Quarantine is not voluntary and not intended for the good of the persons subjected to it.
At the moment and pending mass availability of a vaccine, what passes for care is mostly incarceration by another name, primarily for the good of others.
It is exclusively for the good of others in the case of every person who would actually do better outside the poorly equipped, poorly staffed, and badly managed dungeons that may sometimes be all that's available for isolation and care in the hands of the medical or other authorities.
Little or nothing that is now being done, planned, or contemplated in the battle against Ebola is aimed at the good of the sick.
