What's wrong with this picture?

Denver area students walk out in protest of patriotic history proposal

Education is not value neutral.

Public education necessarily ignores religion, for example - a situation that in its nature at least to some extent discredits religion in favor of positivism.

And it engages in flat out brainwashing to impose pro-American, pro-government, and pro-war views even by going so far as to coerce participation in patriotic displays like the Pledge.

Even publicly funded private education must comply with numerous federal and state regulations that schools that eschew public funding can ignore.

Should government decide all these values and impose them on the young?

As for kids deciding them, that's a laugh.

They're even stupider and more ignorant than their parents.
