NRSV.
Generally regarded as a continuation of Luke.
Acts 2:14-47, Peter's sermon at Pentecost begins with an explanation to his Jewish audience of the disciples' speaking in tongues, that they are not drunk.
At verse 16 he says,
"No [they are not drunk - PV], this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel:
17 'In the last days it will be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young me shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.'"
So we are already in the last days, according to Peter.
2:44 All who believed were together and had all things in common;
45 they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need.
Peter will go on to perform healing miracles, like Jesus', in Jesus' name.
Arrested and hauled before the high priest and others, Peter goes on the offensive.
4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers of the people and elders,
9 if we are questioned today because of a good deed done to someone who was sick and are asked how this man has been healed,
10 let it be known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that this man is standing before you in good health by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead.
11 This Jesus is 'the stone that was rejected by you, the builders; it has become the cornerstone.'
12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among mortals by which we must be saved."
And again.
4:32 Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.
A holdout, Ananias, rebuked by Peter, falls down dead. Not knowing this, the wife lies about the money to Peter, who rebukes her, and she falls down dead. Great fear seized the whole church (5:1- 11).
A salutary lesson.
