What we know so far
- A van has plowed into a crowd of people in Barcelona, killing 13 and injuring more than 50.
- Local police have confirmed that the incident was a terror attack; they have arrested one man.
- The number of dead is "bound to rise," according to local officials.
- The incident took place near Las Ramblas, an area popular with tourists.
- Police have told people to avoid the location, in the center of the city.
- Catalan emergency services have requested the closure of metro and train stations in the vicinity, according to Reuters.
Reportedly, the numbers are expected to rise.
Breitbart says a Moroccan from France, Driss Oukabir, is in custody.
He has a Facebook page that allegedly indicates this was Muslim in motivation.
Nothing to say it was terrorism rather than a mere hate crime, but I doubt we can expect Breitbart to be fussy about the difference, any more than (increasingly) partisans on the other side of America's racial conflicts.

And nothing in the reports to distinguish terrorism out of Muslim solidarity (remember the Boston Bombers?) from terrorism motivated by Islamic radicalism.
Actual, religious Jihad, that is.
Update, revised to 12 dead and 80 wounded, 2 so far known involved, ISIS claiming responsibility with unknown veracity.
Some suggestions others are or were involved, and other attacks may happen.
Police still hunting.
These guys are a lot more serious than that schmuck in Charlottesville.
