Oh, and he really enjoys bashing the system even more, and more deeply, than she does.
Of the two, I would prefer her to him for three reasons: she's younger, she's not male, and she insists she is not a socialist.
On the other hand, they are both protectionists and not a lot less inclined toward isolationism than Trump, truth be told.

And I really don't see the world getting safer as a result of the US preparing and committing only to defend the Western Hemisphere north of the equator.

The fly in the ointment is that the ratification process, in which each state counts for one and no more than one, is even more absurd in the outsize power it gives to sparsely populated states than the EC.
And good luck getting two thirds of the senators to agree.
Small state senators have killed every previous attempt to do this.
