Time To Consider Nationalizing The Greedy Pharmaceutical Industry
Amato's is not an especially left wing site and Susie M is not an especially left wing writer.
And yet, this appears to be the year of socialism.
The year of stupid.
It's been a very long time since, contra Hayek, J. K. Galbraith became a famous favorite of the left telling America free market, capitalist competition, instead of encouraging valuable innovation, generated only stupid, trivial, and even laughable product differentiation.
Tail fins on cars, for example.
But some nonsense never dies.
Why doesn't the patent on established drugs just run out quicker?
These are criminally exploitive monopoly prices for goods demand for which is relatively inelastic, and the monopoly seems to be justified by nothing.
