Plenty of room in Kazakhstan

Not to mention Turkey, the rich Gulf states, and the many other Muslim states that emerged when the Soviet Union broke up.

These refugees and, indeed, the waves of migrants from Libya and elsewhere on the Maghreb would all be so much more at home in these other Muslim lands than in London, Paris, Rome, Athens, or Berlin.

Why haven't Ms. Merkel and her numerous echoes publicly spoken of that possibility?

War has forced half of Syrians from their homes.
