But it doesn't really hit her sweet spot.

Liberals nowadays insist there is such a thing as gender wholly distinct from and nothing much to do with actual, biological sex.
They are right.
It is a grammatical feature of nouns of many languages including Latin, German, and French.
It is merely vestigial in English.
