Looks like Dems are hanging tough

Though many published "fact checks" look like so much gibberish this one does not.

It appears Trump lied and misled on occasion but did not actually include among his lies a declaration that the situation on the southern border is a national security emergency.

Trump surrogates like Mick Mulvaney are continuing to urge Democrats, as they have done for over a week, to offer him some money for the wall, claiming refusal to compromise is unreasonable and contrary to the way bipartisanship necessarily and naturally works.

Really, the Democrats are the ones at fault, they say, for the continuing shutdown since they have not made an offer to give the Duce some money for the wall.

Andrea Mitchell and others in the media normally sympathetic to Democrats seem increasingly to be buying into that idea.

But Democratic legislators and spokespeople are still saying there will be no money for a wall and insisting the government be funded and started working before a deal is concluded on immigration and border security, as they have from the beginning.

As to a compromise, bipartisan deal on immigration, Democrats point out that the Congress gave one to the president last March and after both houses passed it he, in one of his trademark volte-faces in response to flak from the right wing noise machine, refused to sign it after saying for weeks he would sign any deal the Congress gave him.

Recall how Bozo bragged and brayed, after some mass shooting or other, that he would defy the NRA and sign further gun control measures, only to completely cave in when visited at the White House by NRA reps who gave him his marching orders.

This blowhard and bully has no balls whatsoever.
