Mitch McConnell, who has refused to even allow votes in the senate he controls on any of the measures to reopen the government passed in the house without wall money, will force the Democrats in the senate and the house to vote against the president's fake compromise that would reopen the government and give him the entire $ 5.7 billion in wall money he has demanded all along.
The point of the exercise is to put the blame for the continuing shutdown, in public perception, squarely on the Democrats.
I sincerely hope the Democrats continue intransigent and relentless.
No wall money for Trump.
No new immigration measures until Trump and the Republicans release their hostages.
No deal on anything until then.
No rewards for political terrorists.
A shutdown is not a legitimate tool of partisan legislative maneuver.
