Four More Years


With Florida still in doubt, Barack Obama has won a solid Electoral College victory and a not inconsiderable  popular vote victory.

The House is about where it was, as is the Senate.

Pennsylvania went blue - the wife and I did our part voting the straight Democratic ticket - and so did Maryland, no doubt despite the best efforts of wayward daughter and bad influence son-in-law.

Gloom and bitterness abound on the right while the left is not so much cheered as relieved, as though at a scary close call.

And that's what it was.

It's hard to image ever voting Republican for any office, again, let alone for president, as I have done twice in the past, because it's hard to image the conservatives ever loosening their choke-hold on the party in what's left of my lifetime.

They are already saying Mitt was too centrist and flip-floppy and it will be Ryan, next time.
