Why does the relationship between secular politicians and
the church remind us of the relationship between the mafia and the church?
They were always so pious in the Godfather series, weren’t
they?
The dons, I mean.
And the pols, in much the same way.
So what does that tell us of the actual role of the church,
religion, and morals in making humans fit for society, more or less safe to
live among?
