This works for feminists and liberals a lot better than
calling the Republicans an alliance of plutocrats and Christian clericalists
with a dose of racists of unknown significance.
Liberals are perfectly OK with raging and sneering at a party of old
white men but not so anxious to attack a party of bishops, clergymen of all
stripes, lay but believing Christians, and un-rich folks so stupid as to ally themselves
with a vicious plutocracy that would strip them naked and let them starve in the
snow.
Racist and sexist attacks on the opposition seem to them far
preferable and more likely successful than frank attacks on the evils of
capitalism and the vicious greed of the ruling class.
Class war?
