The pope on the left, again

The pope on the Jihad

"Homegrown" Muslim terrorism in France is the product of "a throwaway culture."

The pope's is far from the only voice pointing to French society as the source of the problem.

The idea is that the French have failed to properly welcome and integrate Muslim immigrants into the French economy, French neighborhoods, and French life.

This is the complaint of the anti-immigrationists that Muslim immigrants refuse to assimilate or integrate themselves into French society, culture, and the economy, spun the other way.

Spun as the left spins.

In the recent past, the French left used the word "exclusion" and described the sub-proletariat as "les exclus."

There is another side of the pope's leftiness, in this connection.

He is after all the head of the world's largest Christian sect, and Christians are under brutal attack by these same Muslim Jihaders, who slaughter Christians wherever they can.

The story says,

Pope Francis on Monday denounced the religious fundamentalism that inspired the Paris massacres and ongoing Mideast conflicts, saying the attackers were enslaved by "deviant forms of religion" that used God as a mere ideological pretext to perpetuate mass killings.

In his annual foreign policy address to Vatican-based ambassadors, Francis called for a unanimous response from the international community to end "fundamentalist terrorism" in the Mideast.

And he called for Muslim leaders in particular to condemn "extremist interpretations" of their faith that seek to justify such violence.

The leader of the 1.2-billion strong Catholic Church has stepped up his call for Muslim political, religious and intellectual leaders to vocally insist that Islam doesn't condone such violence.

As if to say, "Defenders of Muslims and of Islam have said since 2001 and before that Muslim fanaticism is not 'really' Muslim, that it is heretical, that it is a perversion of Islam.

"But others think otherwise, that all this horror is the true Islam, is inherent in it and has been from the beginning.

"Time for you, the Muslims, to decide the truth.

"Join us and denounce the Jihaders, or remain silent and prove your apologists are wrong and those who blame Islam are right."

Crickets, so far.
