Buchanan on Trumbo, "Trumbo," and the Hollywood Blacklist

Pretty good, on the whole, though of course it's very hard to say what Bernie Sanders is.

It is perhaps worth noting that PB here cites against the reds only objections that used to be central for anti-communist liberals, socialists, Marxists, and anarchists, and ought to be sufficient to damn them today.

He does not make objections that could only appeal to conservatives.

And his remarks about the anti-communism of the late nineteen forties and early fifties are spot on.

Trumbo, by the way, was certainly not totally wrong about the role of racism in American history, though it is going too far to call it the keystone of American policy, both foreign and domestic.

But that did not make him one whit less a traitor in his heart.

Some fine films to his credit, as well.
