Trump said to the cameras today that any more delay of rollback and the damage to the economy will be such that we will never recover, never get back to where we were.
Point 1, never is a long time. Too long to say that with any confidence at all.
Point 2, we're not getting back to that level any time soon. Maybe not for decades.
Still, it might be true that every day we wait costs us months of recovery time, or that each successive day's cost in recovery time is a multiple of that of the day before.
Or something bad like that, so that every day rollback becomes more urgent.
In the last few days, CNN and MSNBC have become a lot more frank about the devastation and what a long struggle it will be.
On the other hand, if anything, Trump has been less frank about the increased damage that the virus will do, and the increase in the virus damage that will be due to features of the rollback he will be in fact responsible for.
