But it's too late to get the beginning right for a successful lockdown approach.
Trump's fault, entirely, but true all the same.
You only get one try at a good first impression, you know.
The botched Trump lockdown has given us the worst of both worlds.
All the damage to the economy a severe lockdown could do short of driving us into the stone age for generations to come.
Pretty much all it can stand, perhaps.
Yet the virus was only slowed and is not even really stalled, with the US the most infected and killed-off country in the world.
And worse to come.
Doesn't mean Trump isn't right that we have to start rolling back, ASAP.
Millbank doesn't seem to see it that way.
Other countries are winning against the virus. We are quitting.
