Spin wars on the Charlie Hebdo attack

The girls on BBC and CNN XM radio this morning were reporting emphatically that nearly all Muslims are swell people and one of them reported on some kid in Paris who wore a sign she thought was sweet, saying “I am Muslim and I am Charlie Hebdo,”

It did not occur to anyone, apparently, to demand of him, much as atheists do of partisans of liberal Christianity,

What the hell are you playing at?

You say you don’t believe any of that shit and you don’t want any part of that intolerant nonsense but you are a Muslim

What the hell do you mean by that?

The only network not pimping for Mohammed this morning was Fox, and they had Hannity spinning the whole thing as proof that we need to do more – no indication what – , and we need a good Republican guy to do it.

He was perfectly right as to the facts, however, including the absurdity of media that, after every such attack in the West, spend 50 minutes of every hour of coverage staving off the imaginary menace of Islamophobia for every 10 actually reporting the latest Muslim horrors.

The sound of lavage de cerveau is everywhere.
