MSNBC Dr. Scott Gottlieb, former FDA Commissioner, just now.

First admission I've seen on that network by one of their own consultants that lockdown has already had measurable adverse medical consequences, partly involving people avoiding normal medical treatment and partly people denied normal medical treatment.

People having heart attacks not going to the ED, people needing chemo skipping it, and so on.

And a backlog of elective surgeries delayed longer than normal.

"Elective" does not mean "unnecessary" but only that there is some slack in scheduling, doesn't have to be right now.

Ten to twenty infections are out there for every person who tests positive, he says, by the way.

A propos of how widespread the disease is and how lethal it really is.
