Why not balance the tax increases with cuts in the defense budget and cuts in aid to Israel?

That would be OK.

But balance it by making granny eat cat food and die early of a preventable affliction?

Making her, old and not long for this world, work on for a few more years?

Nah.

Oh, I agree K gives O too much credit for leftism.

But a solid majority of Americans are to the left of the Republican Party, the conservative movement, the NRO, and Mr. Charles Krauthammer.

Did we live in a democracy, both houses of congress would be in Democratic hands.

Not by a huge margin, but still.
