Poultry, fish, and pig-meat have far fewer calories than beef in any form.
Salad veggies are way low in calories and low, even zero, calorie dressings are on the market.
Other veggies have considerably fewer calories than red meat, too.
Likewise fruits.
However, nuts and whole grain products can have a lot of calories, and in our house we deliberately pick low calorie cereal products, too.
But I do value olive oil and avoid butter, or even higher calorie margarines.
