Erdogan loyalists vs a military coup

Erdogan's party is unconstitutional and Erdogan is the kind of president Ataturk wanted his army to prevent.

Apparently for several hours there has been a slomo coup and it is still undecided who will come out on top.

If the coup makers win most likely Islamism will be rolled back in Turkey and the Turks will be better friends in the war on Jihaders.

If Erdogan wins his own long slow effort to subvert the republic in the interests of Islamism will prosper.

At a guess.

Update, 7/16/16, 1038 EDT.

Looks like the coup failed.

Too bad.
