The claims of that foolish French official that he must have been "suddenly radicalized" are baseless.
Was it about getting his fifteen minutes of fame?
It has been suggested in some stories his motivation may have been like that of the Boston Marathon Bombers, more a matter of global Muslim solidarity and fighting back against a perceived Occidental war against Muslims per se than anything religiously motivated.
But there really hasn't been any evidence produced to support that theory of the crime, either.
