Buckley had to force himself through Atlas Shrugged, he says.



Whitaker Chambers damned the book for its scorn for any hint of altruism, and Ayn Rand hated him for it, says WFB.

Because WFB published that review she would never after attend any conservative function he or Chambers planned to attend.

And she would check in advance!


He says her un-admitted inspiration is a class war between Nietzsche’s supermen and his last men.

That actually makes sense.

Nietzsche was in so many ways, and precisely in this way, a vicious lunatic.
