Hypocrisy is normal

People are ripping Evangelicals, values voters, and GOPsters for refusing or struggling to detach from Roy Moore.

Remember women, even feminist leaders, who did not abandon Bill Clinton?

Remember the many, many Dems who defended not only his evident lies but his actual sexual conduct?

Joy on Morning Joy was just shocked and appalled at the Christian right staying in Moore's corner, at how many polled GOP voters in Alabama said they would vote for him even if he turned out to be guilty.

Now think of the black jurors who saved OJ.

Black voters who constantly supported Adam Clayton Powell.

The timeworn cliche of black voters in city districts voting for their favorite Democrat even as he sits in jail, convicted of crimes.

Joy maybe doesn't remember any of that?

She's a fraud and a hypocrite about hypocrisy.

There's a lot of hypocrisy about hypocrisy, right now, and more or less always.

Oh, and this is hilarious.

[A]n Alabama official invoked Christianity's Holy Family to defend Senate GOP candidate Roy Moore from accusations that he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl decades ago.

"Take Joseph and Mary," Alabama State Auditor Jim Zeigler told the Washington Examiner. "Mary was a teenager and Joseph was an adult carpenter. They became parents of Jesus. There's just nothing immoral or illegal here. Maybe just a little bit unusual."

Elsewhere the same fellow is quoted as also citing various nasty OT figures in support of the good Judge.

He doubtless knows well that the official, traditional Christian sexual morality, as set forth in the NT and the relevant religious laws of the OT - barbaric, repressive, violent, and absurd as it is - , is not based on the actual conduct, pretty disgusting in surprisingly many cases, of the OT's most significant holy men and women.

In Alabama, standing in front of voters, Moore denied everything and got a standing ovation with cheering.

Sweet home Alabama.
