Remember the migration from New Orleans, after Katrina?

People need to get work, send their kids to school, find safe housing, and do so many things, right away, that they won't be able to do in their home towns for months to come, when there are disasters like this, that migrations are the rule, and the moves are in many cases permanent.

The population of Puerto Rico was already small, and this will make it considerably smaller when the cleanup and recovery efforts reach their end and the island reaches a new economic balance.

The Puerto Rican migration could shape Florida politics for years to come
