McConnell Says He Believes Roy Moore Accusers, Calls on Him to Quit the Race
McConnell, R-Ky., spoke to reporters after visiting a plant in Kentucky and said he believes the women who have come forward with allegations against Moore.
"I think he should step aside," McConnnell said.
The Senate Republican leader said he believes the women who were quoted in a Washington Post story about Moore's past relationships with them as young women.
"I believe the women, yes," McConnell said Monday in response to a question from the media.
Here and there in the media, lawyers are explaining that, though the senate has to seat him if he wins, they can immediately expel him by a 2/3 majority vote, if they want.
Another accuser recounts a criminal sexual assault, not involving intercourse, with Moore when she was 16, just at the Alabama age of consent.
Update, 11142017.
All of his senate supporters have abandoned Moore and all now call for him to drop out.
Several have called for Alabamans to vote for the Democrat if Moore does not withdraw, McConnell is looking at finding a write in candidate, and several GOP senators are calling for his expulsion in case he wins.
