How tyrants so often really end

Like Mao, like Stalin, like so many, many of them, all the way back to ancient times.

Old, beloved, celebrated, successful, rich, sexually sated by people and animals of all ages and sexes, no matter their whims.

The best palaces, the best wines, the best doctors, the best of everything.

Mugabe's exit is 'a done deal' but Zimbabwe is still in limbo

He might have lived just a skosh too long.

Mugabe's one party rule has gone on with him as president since 1987 and before that prime minister since 1980, but began with his leading role in resisting Ian Smith's baaskap government, born of UDI, in the mid to late 1970's.

He began a reforming vulgar Marxist, but ended a routine repressive autocrat supported by a routine one party kleptocracy.
